Mustang of the Month for January 2012 Justin, Heather, and Lucas O'Daniel's "Herd"
Mustang of the Month for December 2011 Cary Beatty's 2003 GT Convertible
I decided that I would finally own a Mustang convertible
after having rented one while on vacation in Colorado during the summer of 2005.
The following March I bought a very nice 2003 silver V-6 convertible with the
Pony Package option at Scarff in Auburn. Unfortunately I didn't have that car
for very long, it perished in a serious rollover accident four months later.
Under much protest from family and friends I decided to replace it with another
convertible. As luck would have it I returned to Scarff and found this GT in the
same spot on the lot as the first one. Five years later she remains all stock
mechanically. However I have added two different factory stripe kits, and some
Mach 1 style adornments. After buying a daily driver last year she now stays in
her “stable” and only comes out on nice days, special occasions, or to play with
her fellow Ponies! Mustang of the Month for November 2011 Stacey Mellinger 's 1992 "foxyfox" Gray Convertible
After several years of failed attempts to purchase my dad's
'95 Mustang Cobra, he tossed me and my sister, Kristi, the keys to his newest
toy, a '90 LX 7-Up Convertible. It was the first warm sunny day of spring so we
all piled in and hit Thurston County's finest back roads. I was the first in the
driver's seat. Since I was already on a deferral for a speeding ticket, I
decided to play it cool despite the ribbing I received from the other
passengers. Kristi mentioned that if she was going to risk a ticket, she would
"make it worth it" and about 15 minutes later she took the wheel. She had a bit
of fun fish-tailing thru downtown Tenino, but my dad advised her to take the
horseplay out-side of the city limits. We were stuck behind a slow poke heading
out of town and with dad always being full of good advice said, "Now put it in
second and HIT it!" We blew by the slow poke doing about 90 and then we saw him,
The officer caught up to us and asked us where we were going, but all of us
including the officer had difficulty keeping a straight face. He knew exactly
what we were up to… 5.0L + sunshine + convertible = BIG trouble. Kristi got a
talking to as did my dad for allowing her to drive as she was. When the officer
realized we had nothing to say and were patiently waiting for him to leave so we
could have a good laugh, he wrote her out the ticket. We all had such a good
time that day that I quickly became a 5.0L fox body fan… I had to have one. When
dad declined to sell me his 7-Up, I decided to get my own. I purchased "foxyfox"
in July 2010 and joined PCMC shortly thereafter. I've had a blast with new
friends and to this day, I still ask Kristi "Was it worth it???" Mustang of the Month for October 2011 Dan and Jolene Alpert's 1968 Sonic Blue Coupe
I have been into Mustangs since before I could drive (mid
1980’s) and my dream was to build my own. I have owned
several over the years, but in 1998 I bought a plain-Jane faded Seafoam Green
6-cyl 3-speed coupe that had “Mod Me” written all over it!
Seven years later in 2005 I was finally driving my dream! The
color is Ford Sonic Blue and it now has a 377 stroker (351 Windsor) with Holly
Commander 950 Throttle Body Injection, Tremec 3550 5-speed, and TCP power
rack-n-pinion to name a few of the too many mods to list. Mustang(s) of the Month for September 2011 Robert & Wendy Minnieweather’s: 2005 Sonic Blue Coupe (Pictured) Wendy's 1988 GT/HB Robert's 1993 Cobra Clone (See the September PonyNews for more pictures and a full writeup!)
Mustang of the Month for August 2011 Jason Smith's 2011 Kona Blue Metallic GT I’ve been a Mustang fan for as long as I can remember so I was one happy guy when I got my hands on my first GT in 2008. I was extremely happy with it and had absolutely no intention of getting rid of it. Then I went to the auto show in Seattle last November. Ford happened to be signing up people for gift cards just for coming in and test driving any new vehicle. I had wanted to check out the new 5.0 engines so it was an easy call. Long story short, after finding out my will power wasn’t nearly as strong as I had led myself to believe, I was driving home in a scaled-down version of the car you see here. I hated to see the other Mustang go, but this one had a lot of potential. After months of planning, I went to work making her my own and am really happy with how she turned out. Featured in Microsoft's Project Gotham Racing 4 game for the Xbox 360. Mustang of the Month for June 2011 Bob Batiuk's 1995 GT Convertible ![]() What makes Bob’s Mustang special is that Bob is the original owner, buying it off the showroom floor from Titus–Will Ford. His Mustang has under 34,000 miles. Mustang of the Month for May 2011 Alan and Noah Scott's 2010 Shelby GT500
My interest for the mustang started when I was in high school. A friend of the family had a 1965 Mustang with the most beautiful black acrylic lacquer finish I have ever seen. The car was always in the back of my mind of "some day". Well in 2009 my wonderful wife gave me the go ahead to get my dream. I had been eyeing the new series of Shelby GT500's from when Ford first started talking about putting them out. I searched and found my 2010 GT500 pictured. I am so happy to be making memories with my son Noah. He has been bitten by the car bug and has car pictures hanging all over his bedroom. I would like to thank all the members for making the both of us feel so welcome, The events are so much fun. -Alan and Noah Scott Mustang of the Month for April 2011 Monika Kirkland 2003 Red Mustang Convertible My love for the Mustang goes back to 1964. Too young to purchase one back in the day. When I was old enough to drive my interests moved over to the Stingray. Yeah I know. But what can I say. I ended up with a Firebird Trans Am instead of a Stingray. NO speeding tickets there. With the 6.6 liter motor I could not afford to cruise around much. Along came the kids and a BMW followed by a Volvo seemed appropriate. Started going to the Round up in the late 90's where I noticed a flyer for Mustangs Across America 1999. One could only dream. Had my baby grand daughter living with me and such an adventure seemed so far away. I promised myself ONE OF THOSE DAYS. Well the day came in 2004. I had purchased a 1998 a couple years earlier and with the kids growing and also being interested in the Mustang I signed up for that epic drive. I met some amazing folks along the way and it was truly a "Ride of a lifetime". An added bonus was the film crew that traveled with us and produced the documentary "Kings of the road". It's kind of cool to turn the TV on and see your vacation unfold. Priceless. Other folks from Wa encouraged me to stay active and so I started going on the Mustangs West cruises. I was encouraged by Roy and Peggy to join PCMC. And here I am. So far I participated in the MAA 09 and traveled with some truly great people to the Steamboat Springs car show in 2005, International Mustang meets in Edmonton, Alberta and Helena, Mt. The Grand National in Park City, Ut and the West Coast Nationals in Las Vegas, Nv and Concord, Ca. along with the NW regional Saleen show in Oregon. I am looking forward to experience the Sturgis Mustang Meet this Labor Day with some great folks. While I enjoy these shows as a participant as well as a judge my love belongs to cruising in my convertible. I have a plain Jane 2003 V-6 c/v not much to write about her, she is mostly stock. But I love her anyway. Mustang(s) of the Month for March 2011 Mike and Rachel Lanigan 2003 Torch Red Mustang Coupe 2003 Black Mustang Convertible
My love of the Mustang started in the early 70’s when
my mother had a red 1967 with a black top and black interior. Then in 86’ I had
a neighbor who had a white Fox Body that had ground effects…all I remember
thinking was I wanted one. Mikes love comes from just muscle cars. He started
out making go carts and working his way up to building engines. He learned how
to drive in a 1970 Mach 1 that belonged to his brother, who was always yelling
at him to quit “squawking the tires”, something he has never out grown. We
bought “Blackie” in April of 2007, Mike couldn’t wait to “Hot Rod” it out, of
course since it was my daily driver I kept telling him “no”. So in March of 2009
he decided to get his own and bought “Red”. In August of 2007, we heard about
this car show happening at the South Hill Mall, we checked it out and joined
PCMC that day.

Mustang of the Month for December 2010
"My families current project is a 1995 ford mustang GT coupe. Bought the
vehicle last year In Marysville Washington. Located it on the internet, and my
wife and I drove up to see it. After looking at it, I said lets skip on it and
my wife said, "it had potential." We made an offer, and the old girl is ours
now. First of this year 2010, We replaced the engine with a reman. from Ford
Motor Company. It was cost effective than to rebuild the old motor. At the same
time, the transmission was rebuilt as well. The whole front suspension was
replaced or rebuilt with all new parts. The engine has a BBK cold air
induction, BBK headers,BBK adjustable fuel pressure regulator, BBK 76 mm mass air
meter calibrated to 30lb. Ford fuel injectors. Exhaust has a Magnaflow x-pipe
with high flow cats on it. We are running with a Diablo custom tune by John at
Horse Power Ranch. Now, Nov.2010, we have now added a Edelbrock performer
upper/lower intake as well as a Edelbrock 70mm throttlebody. Now, for an early
Christmas and Birthday present, my wife bought me a Ford Racing aluminum drive
shaft and a Borla exhaust system. The last thing we did to the mustang was
have the rear end re-built. It was rebuilt in early Nov. 2010. Our stock gears
were 2.73 and replaced them with Ford Racing 3.55 gears. We went from a 28
spline axle to a 31 spline axle. The axles are from Moser, the differential is
an Eaton, replaced all bearings and seals. Had the axle power coated black. We
replaced the rear upper and lower control arms with BBK control arms. The rear
springs were repainted black with new red spring isolators from Energy
Suspension. Also, had replaced rear brake calipers, brake pads with Hawk
performance street pads, and rear brake rotors with Brembo cross drilled
rotors. Future plans for this car is to have the interior replaced and the car
to be repainted with the same color. The vehicle has had all of the work done by
ABC Transmission in Tacoma Washington. The tuning has been done by John at
Horse Power Ranch in Maple Valley Washington. If it has not been for these 2
places working on this mustang, it would have been a very much longer road for
my family and I. We appreciate all the hard work to the ones who has helped make
our project what it is today."

Mustang of the Month for December 2009 Matt and Kassandra Sparkmon's 2000 Coupe "Kub's Pony" This is our 2000 Tropic Green V6 coupe. After graduating college in June this year, Kassandra and I decided we needed to reward ourselves for this achievement. We had been tagging along on PCMC events so we decided it was a great time for a Mustang. She is a great starter pony, and although it is not the mustang of our dreams, we really enjoy the ride. She will be getting vanity plates that say "KUBSPNY" in December. We plan to give her to our son Jaekub for his 16th birthday. ![]()

In April 1968 I traded in a 1965 Honey Gold six cylinder three speed Mustang Coupe on this Acapulco Blue 1968 GTCS California Special. I had the optional Hood Tach installed on it at the time of purchase. Over the years I have made some minor changes but in the mid 80’s after retiring from the Army, I had the Mustang Ranch in Eatonville put it back to stock. Last year I exchanged the 3.25 to a 2.75 rear end for increased mileage. This past month I had disc brakes installed on the front. It is still considered stock, since both were options in 1968. One thing I accomplished last year during my trip back east, I was able to complete my wish to drive it in all 48 continental United States. In addition I have driven in three Canadian Provinces. Currently it has 465,000 miles on it; via one short block and two valve jobs. The transmission had been replaced once and overhauled a couple times. It has taken lots of awards, no best of show yet, but it claimed the ‘Event Sponsor’s Choice’ in Jefferson, IN this past year. (There have been quite a few Long Distance awards given also since I have traveled quite a bit to the shows.) I have enjoyed owning this 1968 GTCS California Special for the past 41 years. (For those of you who don’t know, my companion is Tanner, who goes just about everywhere with me.
Bill Norman’s 2000 GT Convertible I have always wanted a Mustang convertible so mid-late December 1999 I decided to trade in my 1983 White LX Mustang on a Bright Atlantic Blue Mustang GT Convertible. I came up with the personalized license: ‘MYY2KGT’ (MY – my; Y2K – 2000; GT – GT) over New Years at a friend’s place. The first year I owned it I took it to several shows; and additionally I made a trip back east to a MCA Grand National near Durham, North Carolina. (This was the last big trip Rusty made with me as he passed in December 2000.) It has had a couple fender-benders since I’ve owned it. It is my “Cruising” Mustang, and, if the weather permits, the top is down.

"My dad bought this car
when I was 6 from a lady in El Cajon, CA in 1971. That day on the way
home he said some day this car will be yours son. Well he made
true to his word 34 years later. Now my 3 sons will have to prove
themselves.

"We have always loved the looks of the Mustang Car, and
the sound of the engine. always caught our eye, a real attention
getter, Our Dream Car we just never thought that we would really be able
to get one, it was time we needed a new car, our work car was becoming
to expensive with all the up keeps and repairs, so we drove down to
Korum Ford in Puyallup where we always buy our cars.

"This is our black 2007 Cal Special. We were looking for a GT but when we saw
this pony at Scarff Ford, it was love at first sight! We've added a Ford Racing
cold air intake and performance tune that pumps out an extra 25 hp. In addition
to the hood pins we also added the original "California Special" chrome logos
from the 1968 model to add a little more nostalgia. The rest (hood scoop, rear
spoiler, wheels) are stock. What we love best about our Mustang is the rare
combination of vintage looks, with modern comfort and performance - The car show
on Sunday, and posing on the way to work on Monday!"

Since this picture, we've upgraded the exhaust, replaced stock wheels with '07 GT wheels, put a billet grill on and added some internal and under the hood visual enhancements. This was my 40th birthday present! Maybe next year, I'll put it in a show. :o) Donna Zimbelman
Mustang of the Month
for October 2008
This is my 65 GT
fastback. I bought the car when I was 17. I had to talk my dad into loaning me
the $2750 until I sold my 66 6cyl coupe. Well he gave in after he saw it. Thanks
dad. I am 43 now and have put 3200 miles on it since I finished 90% of the car.
I don’t think they’re ever done. Well its a true GT, Caspian blue, blue and
white pony, rally pack. The 289 has mild cam, coated headers, Motorsport intake,
and Flowmasters. Now being married and my daughter is 8, my step son 18, I like
taking them out for drives, especially showing his friends there’s other cars
besides Hondas. He agrees now. I hope to get out and meet you all.
Mustang of the Month for September 2008
"Well, it’s a 1995 GT 5.0 I bought from a friend going through a divorce in 1996, he didn’t want his wife to get the car so he sold it to me for 11k, so you could say his misfortune was my fortune. The car is lowered 1.5” with H&R springs and 17” American racing wheels, MAC cold air intake and chrome accents on the hood and side scoops, sliding moon roof. This coming winter I would like to add headers, supercharger and a performance chip, as well as an in dash DVD with navigation. For the longest time I was thinking of trading it in for a newer model, but after talking to family and friends I have decided to keep it, so I traded in my Chevy truck for a 07 Ford F150 super cab instead."
Mustang of the Month for August 2008
I bought the car new out of Canada in 1984. It was shipped over the border to me sight unseen. I drove the car daily until 1999 when it has 319,000 miles on it. It was running tired so spent the next year having the engine rebuilt, boring it out and putting new headers on it, changing gears in the rear end and putting a new clutch in it. I have approx. 4000 miles on it now and it is virtually brand new. I have replaced the tires and wheels and just had the black repainted. It sits in my garage along with my 1957 Thunderbird and my 2001 Mercedes SLK320.
Mustang of the Month for July 2008 Bill & Lia Pavone
Mostly stock with a 260 HP fuel injected, coil on each sparkplug for sure fire get up and go. This car is a daily driver with 25k miles. Additions: *editor's note: Bill will attest that this is the faster Gold Mustang in the club!
Mustang of the Month for June 2008 9 Months before I left for my tour in Korea my husband bought me this 2005 Mustang Convertible with the premium upgrade for my birthday. He wanted me to have the car I have lusted after for many years before I went overseas for a year without my family. That way I would have something to look forward to when I got home other than being back home with my loved ones. This was the best birthday present!
Mustang(s) of the Month for May 2008 Well since we own 3 Mustangs, we had difficulty trying to select just 1 so here’s the story of all of our Ponies. ![]()
Mustang #1: Net’s ’65. This is Lynnette’s first car given
to her by her folks in 1977. She learned how to drive along with several
of her friends. Later she got it painted from its factory white to a
dark blue. The car was pretty tired when she broke the oil pump shaft
and the car sat in a garage for 7 years. In the summer of 2004 she
decided to restore it and now after many $$$ it is one very nice car. Mustang of the Month for April 2008 "When third gear fell out of my Dodge Caravan, my sons told me 'Don't buy another mini van, Mom...buy something FUN! So I did! No January MOTM Mustang of the Month for October/November 2007 David Dillahunt's "Desert Mustang"
"Just wanted say hi and thank you for getting my wife involved with the show this year. She said that she had a great time and that there were some beautiful cars this year. I also wanted to thank you for all the pictures that you sent, it was great to see all of those cars again and all my buddies here loved them too. You wouldn't believe how many Mustang owners there are out here. I am trying to talk them all into joining the club when they get back. Any way in exchange for the pictures I thought you might like this picture and please share it with the others. This is the only equivalent we have out here right now and it can definitely get some speed going when you want it to. Thanks again, David Dillahunt" THANK YOU DAVID!!!
Mustang of the Month for September 2007 Mike and Sandi Hallock's '66 Mustang 2+2
"This is my 1966 Mustang 2+2 fastback. As you can tell, it is a work in progress. I think all of our cars are going to always be a work in progress. I did some mods on my car, the first mod I did is disc brakes. I figured if I put some horsepower in her, I would like to stop. Next is a motor - a 400 hp 302. She is still a work in progress."

Pete & Nancy Freeman’s
Pete Freeman brought the 1993 GT 5.0 bright red convertible with black interior home in 1998. Originally stock the passing years have seen a number of modifications added including upper/lower strut braces, frame rail connectors, conversion from automatic to 5 speed transmission, cold air intake, Cobra intake manifold, 1 5/8 exhaust headers, aluminum heads and a Cobra R hood with plenty of bling under it. When Pete purchased his toy the odometer read 54,000 miles, a daily driver the odometer now has passed 135,000 miles. Pete is a firm believer that "the fun of a Mustang is in the driving".
